Backstreets Back… Alright!
We always find it pretty cool when celebrities wear our clothes, and if we were a 15 year old girl ten years ago this would have been even cooler!
Backstreet boy AJ (the one on the left) recently wore our 2 Bones tee on tour.
You know you’ve made it when a backstreet boy wears your clothes, right?…
Backstreet’s back ALRIGHT!
super easy outfit
I’m really liking this look on model Chris Rayner. Grey tee + denim shirt + rolled up pants = super easy outfit.
You can still grab our denim shirt on our online store, but you’ll have to get in quick as there’s only a few left.

Blogger love
We’ve been overwhelmed of late with blogger love from the other side of the world, Slovakia, Portugal, America … We may not always be able to understand what they’re saying but we love it anyway. So thank you to all our fans where ever you are in the world.

BAM!
Our PR agency BAM Brands set up a pop up store in Sydney’s Chalk Horse Gallery in Surry Hills to showcase all their brands Summer 10/11 collections, Vanguard included. The time and effort gone into building a store using 300 cardboard boxes is mind blowing, and makes my hands hurt just thinking about it. However, the effort paid off and it all looked fantastic.

Smells like Summer
Last Week we shot our Summer lifestyle Campaign in the Byron. We piled a crew into the car and began our road trip down to stay at Lucy’s B&B in Bangalow.
After a few beers and yarns we hit the hay to get up for the early. We loaded up the old Volvo and hit the road with a plethora of weird and wonderful boards, logs, spoons and little fishes. The boys decided it was time for an impromptu car roof surf through the Bungalow tree tunnels. We got down to byron and were greeted with some clean little runners.
No time to waste it was time to grab a feed and then hit the concrete with a quiver of skaties, shoes not required. Ending a perfect day we headed out to see Tame Impala who were shredding on their new album tour.
Thanks to the crew for an epic day! We’re already on the countdown for summer!

Boys are doing it better

Academy for Men and Women editors go double denim - The Style Tyrant
I went down to Sydney recently for Rosemount Australian Fashion Week. Waiting around for the shows to begin it was apparent to everyone, especially since there was so much media attention on the fact that a swarm of bloggers and subsequently their cameras were heading to the city, that the fashion pack had made a special effect to dress the part.
Sure the ladies were fabulous but what kept catching my eye were the many guys that outshone the girls. One blogger that captured some of the best of the boys is Matt Jordan from the guy’s only blog The Style Tyrant. Perhaps it’s because guys don’t care as much what other people think (or so I believe from a girls perspective) that they can wear exactly what they want to wear and deliver a look to its full potential.
While I’m on my guys are awesome rant, I’ll also send you across to Oh Jamie, a street/party/fashion photography blog by Melbourne’s Jamie Wdziekonski. Running into him down in Sydney and following his blog he’s definitely one to watch and a must to read.
Fashion may be a right of passage for women, but the guys seem to be hot on their tales. We almost forget that the most successful fashion blog is run by a man, Scott Schuman of The Satorialist. And then there’s Tommy Ton from Jak and Jil and Byron Boy who lands himself in the front row of fashion week.
Perhaps we ladies need to take a leaf out from our brothers style books and lift our game.
Models in, celebrities out
FINALLY! I’ve always screwed up my nose when I see celebrities being used as the face of designers brands, its just a bit tacky really. The lowest had to be Lilly Alen for Chanel… when I think of Lily Allen I think of smeared mascara and a big binge night (which may be right or wrong, but thats the first thing that comes into my mind) which I sincerely doubt is what Lagerfeld was aiming for.. at least I hope not.
So I’m very happy to see that all the major designers are casting models for their fall 2010 campaigns.
- Yves St. Laurent: Daria Werbowy
- Gucci: Raquel Zimmermann
- Chanel: Freja Beha Erichsen, Abbey Lee Kershaw, and Brad Kroenig
- Fendi: Anja Rubik and Baptiste Giabiconi
- Louis Vuitton: Christy Turlington, Karen Elson, and Natalia Vodianova (though these names are rumored, not confirmed)
- Balenciaga: a cast of ten models, including Elson and Stella Tennant
- Roberto Cavalli: Gisele Bündchen
- Dior: Karlie Kloss
Great timing by Harpers Bazaar Australia, as their June/July cover features five rising Australian Models. Georgia Fowler, Stef Bambi Northwood-Blyth, Juliana Forge, Meg Lindsay and Stephanie Cherry
