Trend Alert

I’m definitely not voting on a full on 90’s revival of bright coloured hair, but i have to say im really liking the subtle additition of pinks and blues to blonde hair. SUBTLE is the key word here.

And please dont rush off to your closest Starkles or the like and start inserting those coloured clip ins, or you’re going to join tacky town faster than I can say polyester.

Loreal Melbourne Fashion Festival 2010

We’re really excited to be heading to the Loreal Melbourne Fashion Festival next year in March to show our Winter 2010 collection.
The new Festival website is up and running and has a feature on us. So check it out and find out what else will be happening at the Fashion Festival next year.

4th and Bleeker Store

There is absolutley no stopping 4th and Bleeker from taking over the world… well thats what it seems like anyway! Alexander Spencer, the  model and witty Australian blogger has just launch an online store.

Her first limited edition piece The Jeepers Creepers Jumpsuit is out now, with the rest of the range being released online early January 2010.

The most interesting thing will be to see which fashion blogger will be next to follow suit. Although it’s not totally new news, with Fashion Toast’s Rumi Neely having her own ebay store selling vintage pieces, and she’s also collaborated with RVCA designing a few things. Same with Sea of Shoes Jane Aldridge, who created a line of shoes for Urban Outfitters.

But to my knowledge, this is the first blogger to do a range all on their own, and i’ll be waiting with suspense, along with everyone else, to see the rest of the collection.

Wikifashion

We’ve jumped on board the new fashion project Wikifashion. It’s a site created for and by the fashion community where you can find and catalogue anything fashion related, such as blogs, style icons, labels, and magazines. And whats really cool is you can contribute content and edit existing articles just by creating an account.

We Are Handsome

We Are Handsome’s swimwear is incredible! Each piece is limited edition and made by hand, using Italian Lycra and printed with high density inks.
Indhra Chagoury (swimwear designer) and Jeremy Somers (graphic designer) come together to form We Are Handsome. Fusing art, swimwear and fashion together, they have been able to create something spectacular.
Get in quick to their online store if you wish to become the lucky owner of one of there designs, as the cut off date for orders is November 30!

pencil to paper

It has been obvious for a while now that illustration is big in the fashion scene, even before Vogue did their illustration covers for there September 2009 issue. Birdy & Me’s illustrator Kelly Smith has been contracted to do many collaborations with fashion labels such as hot new comer A Friend of Mine, Luxe Accessories and Mambo Goddess. She has also been featured in fashion magazines Australian Vogue, Shop till you drop, Fallen and Glossy.

A new campaign that caught my attention was Kris Van Assche Winter 2009, where the whole campaign was done in pencil by artist Andrea Mastrovito.

Illustration is able to add elements of fantasy and imagination that photography can’t quite achieve, even with the all the lastest high tech programs.

General Pants Campaign

Loving the new General Pants campaign. See I told you everyone loves a pretty girl on a bike… especially when she’s wearing little denim short shorts…

Do you remember paper?

I found this awesome blog through Nine Lives. Its called Remember Paper, and it’s dedicated to all the wonderful things that have been printed, written and created with paper. Sometimes in this modern, futuristic world that we live in, where we’re constantly on the computer (case in point if you’re reading this right now), we forget about the simple things that we can touch and hold.

I know some may argue the huge environmental factor of not using paper, and I completely agree, but what happened to making paper areoplanes, those origami fortune teller things, or passing notes to your friends…
although, it wouldn’t surprise me if Facebook has an application for all of them by now.

Circus Freaks

we’ve made a well thought out, and long hard decision to run away and join the circus…
