We are a Vintage Lover
We would like to make you all aware, if you’re not already, of Vintage Lover. Our lovely friend Jaharn Giles is behind this fast growing online store, where she sells vintage pieces that she sources herself.
One of our favourite parts of the business is her blog. It’s an amazing collection of photography and general inspiration that can pull you out of any creative slum.
We’re really looking forward to seeing the next collection that’ll be released in September. We’re told it’s their best yet and sourced from all over Australia as well as New York! You’ve got to be quick though, as everything is one off, unique and freakin’ awesome.
Vanguard loves Wildfox

Wildfox Couture has done it again by producing an amazing lookbook for their spring 2010 collection Young Guns. Their photoshoots are always inspiring, being able to perfectly convey the fun, light hearted and youthful Californian girl that Wildfox represents.
We’re not sure what we love more, the clothes, the photography or just the really cute girls. But we do know that we love it.
To see more of their photoshoots go here, otherwise head over to their website.
The man in the tight denim short shorts
You may not be too aware of Alby Mangels, a man in tight denim cutoffs, tanned skin and golden hair that was a heartthrob in the 1980s. The Australian adventurer and documentary film-maker is best remembered for his “World Safari” adventure travel films… as well as having an amazing ‘chick-pulling ability’.
This womanizer, animal lover and most of all keen adventurer has been the underlying influencer for our new spring/summer 09/10 range – Alchemy.
Alchemy, by the way, is a philosophy and a practice that aims to achieve ultimate wisdom and immortality. With the range being inspired by youth and travel, it’s a fitting description, since travelling makes you wiser and youth (apparently) think they’re immortal. Not that that’s a bad thing.
The first drop of Alchemy hits the stores next week.

Skateboards are cool… I swear
Skateboarding is coming back on the scene… fast.
Canadian company Contributer has come up with an idea for a show that exhibits the original shape of skateboards when they first hit mass production. What they really want to do is to inspire people to think about their very first skateboard and what it meant to them. For me this obviously meant falling on my arse.
And with supermodels like Erin Wasson, a massive sk8r chick (sorry couldn’t resist), Isabeli Fontana, Lara Stone, Toni Garrn and Edita Vilkeviciute getting on board Doodah’s limited-edition Supermodel Skateboard Project there really is no excuse not to want to own one.
