Mitch Beige Brown is a graphic artist all rounder, providing creative solutions to a selection of cultural clients in the form of print design, creative direction, graphic art, illustration, & web design.

Mitch has caught our attention and we’re stoked to have him on board to collaborate with Vanguard for our next collection.

Our PR agency BAM Brands set up a pop up store in Sydney’s Chalk Horse Gallery in Surry Hills to showcase all their brands Summer 10/11 collections, Vanguard included. The time and effort gone into building a store using 300 cardboard boxes is mind blowing, and makes my hands hurt just thinking about it. However, the effort paid off and it all looked fantastic.

Riley Blakeway is a young gun from NSW Central coast who has proven himself as part of the new breed of  film makers that are breaking the mould against conventional surf flicks.  Creating short films that revolve around the fashion, surf,  street and skate cutlure, he seems a perfect match for Vanguard, and we’re stoked to be collaborating with him in the near future.

Last Week we shot our Summer lifestyle Campaign in the Byron. We piled a crew into the car and began our road trip down to stay at Lucy’s B&B in Bangalow.

After a few beers and yarns we hit the hay to get up for the early. We loaded up the old Volvo and hit the road with a plethora of weird and wonderful boards, logs, spoons and little fishes. The boys decided it was time for an impromptu car roof surf through the Bungalow tree tunnels. We got down to byron and were greeted with some clean little runners.

No time to waste it was time to grab a feed and then hit the concrete with a quiver of skaties, shoes not required. Ending a perfect day we headed out to see Tame Impala who were shredding on their new album tour.

Thanks to the crew for an epic day! We’re already on the countdown for summer!

Last week we flew down to Sydney to shoot our Spring/Summer 2010 Lookbook and Campaign. Blessed with a ridiculously amazing location on the rooftop of an apartment in Bondi, having a view all the way down the beach and also of the city. Setting up a party scene with a bunch of friends turned out easier than expected, and the campaign is definitely looking like it’s to be our best yet.

We want to thank the Academy For Men Magazine Crew for setting everything up for us; the stylist, models, Benn Wood the photographer, Tonight Bondi for jewellery and accessories, Vans and Shay Alexander for lending us shoes as well shooting all the fun behind the scenes.

Our old school mates and Brisbane Indie Rockers, The Gallant have been experimenting with a few different genres of music over the past 9 years. Meeting up while getting an education (with us), they’ve been playing together since there was panic about Y2K and Limp Bizkit were at the top of the charts.

They have released a debut and follow up Extended Play album over the last 2 years and supported a number of other rad rockers including The Faint, British India and Yves Klein Blue to name a few.

Also, the bass guitarist Jordan has agreed to lend us his beautiful face for our upcoming Winter 10 lookbook with Darren, so keep a look out for that one.

Our friend and photographer Darren, is a former Gold Coast boy who now lives in Sydney after doing a stint in Hong Kong to build upon his photography skills.

Other than being gifted in charming beautiful models, he has also worked with Harpers Bazaar (HK & AU), ELLE (HK), Mens ELLE (HK), Tatler, Prestige, SCMP, Style, Madison, UNO and YEN Digital.

He has worked with us on three of our photoshoots, including our latest Alchemy collection, and is currently in the works for our new Winter10 shoot.

His blog Cold After Midnight (Cold AM) is a diary of his personal work, video projects and miscellany, and has been getting quite the following in the blogging world. Using Hannah Glasby and Avril Alexander as his regular models and muses, Darren is pretty well connected with the up and coming Australian talent.
